User is trying to connect Web Suite to the database on a server using Internet Explorer, but receives an error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Due to stricter permissions in Internet Explorer, it is possible that this error occurs when clicking Open during the connection process when connecting Web Suite to the database for the first time.
This can be resolved by using a different browser directly from the server or validating on a workstation with the condition that in IIS, Default Website > WS20XX > Authentication > Anonymous Authentication is Disabled and Windows Authentication is Enabled. On a workstation, while navigating to SERVERIPADRESS/WS20xx, you will be prompted to log in using the administrator account. You will then enter the DB Name, Server Name/Instance, login credentials and click Open.
