While viewing a client's history in BillQuick, there are invoices and payments that belong to this client for a project but they do not appear there.
This is most likely because an existing project was assigned to a new client, but the project history was not associated with it.
When you assign an existing project to a new client, you are prompted to update the previous invoices and payments, and assign them to the new client. If you say No, when you review the history of the new client, nothing will appear because the old data is still assigned to the previous client.
Here is an example of a statement run for a project (09-Torrance Medical Center) that has been assigned to a new client (TMC) but the history appears under the old client (Building Department).
There are cases where you may want this. However, if you want to track the project history under the same client, you can re-assign the project.
1. Go to Project Information and assign this project to the previous client.
2. When you are prompted to associate all the history of this project to this client, say Yes. All the history will now be merged into this client.
3. Now select the project again and assign it to the new client along with its invoice and payment history this time. All its history will be moved to the new client (TMC), and the project and client history will match.
