BillQuick has an advanced feature called the Service Fee Schedule. Creating fee schedules will allow you to bill your employees at different rates per project or activity.
1. Go to View menu, Service Fee Schedule.
2. Click the ‘New’ button, enter a name and description for this fee schedule.
2. Click the ‘New’ button, enter a name and description for this fee schedule.
3. Each line in the service fee schedule can be defined by a combination of Employee or Employee Group and an Activity or Activity Group.
Example 1: You would like all employees to bill Activity 1 at a rate of $95/hour.
Set Employee Group to ‘ALL’ and Activity to ‘Activity 1’; set the Bill Rate to $95.
Example 2: You would like employee A to bill out at a rate of $200 for any activity he works on.
Set Employee to ‘Employee A’ and set the Activity Group to ‘ALL’; set the Bill Rate to $200.
Example 3: Employee A works at multiple rates on a single job. He charges a different rate depending on what he is doing. On Activity 1, he works at $150 an hour. On Activity 2, he works at $105 an hour.
This would be done with multiple line items.
Line 1: Set Employee to ‘Employee A’ and Activity to ‘Activity 1’. Set Bill Rate to $150.
Line 2: Set Employee to Employee A and Activity to Activity 2. Set Bill Rate to $105 …and so on for as many different rates as needed.
Example 4: The engineering group uses several different activities which bill at the same rate. Make an employee group called Engineer. Make an activity group called Engineering.
Set Employee Group to ‘Engineer’. Set Activity Group to ‘Engineering’. Set Bill Rate to $200.
4. After you have completed setting up your service fee schedule, you must apply it to the projects. Click the ‘Assign’ button.
5. Check off the projects to assign modified billing rates.
Note: This will only affect newly created time entries.
