You may have two ArchiOffice/EngineerOffice company databases and want to run them on the same SQL server. You may be hosting a website for other companies and need to add more than one instance of ArchiOffice to the same server.
You can do this by following the steps below:
1. Install ArchiOffice as usual (see installation instructions in the Getting Started Guide).
2. Copy the default installation files and folders from the ArchiOffice installation folder (typically located under C:\Program Files\ArchiOffice 20xx\) to a new folder, say C:\Program Files\ArchiOffice 20xx\My Company.
3. Next create a new virtual folder under IIS named “MyCompany” (you can use your own company name) on your web server under the desired web site. See this knowledgebase article for more.
4. You will be asked to specify the directory you are trying to publish. Click the browse button next to the local path and select C:\Program Files\ArchiOffice 20xx\My Company.
5. Right-click your new virtual folder “MyCompany” and go to the Documents tab. Select 'Enable default document' and remove all the documents currently there. You can then add Default.aspx. Apply and then exit.
6. Open the ArchiOffice 20xx Admin Options (link is provided on the ArchiOffice login page), point to your first ArchiOffice company data file. Go through the steps and on step 5 verify the location of your default web folder (C:\Program Files\ArchiOffice 20xx).
7. In ArchiOffice Admin Options, point to your second ArchiOffice company data file. Go through the steps and on step 5 change the location of your default web folder to (C:\Program Files\ArchiOffice 20xx\My Company) and click Update.
8. To start using ArchiOffice (first instance), open your browser and type the address of your web site (e.g., http://www.mydomain.com/AO20xx/default.aspx where “mydomain.com” will be replaced by your web site's domain name).
9. To start using ArchiOffice (second instance), open your browser and type the address of your web site (e.g., http://www.mydomain.com/MyCompany/default.aspx where “mydomain.com” will be replaced by your web site's domain name).
