User wants to change job codes that are only applicable to certain phases. Instead of going through each project and doing it one by one, is there a way to do it once and have it apply to all projects in ArchiOffice/EngineerOffice?
There is no way to mass associate job codes to phases for existing projects. However, for future projects, you should make sure the project Preferences are properly set so that only the associated job codes appear for certain phases. You should also make sure your template projects have been cleaned up so that future projects that are based on the template will have the proper relationship between the Phases and Job Codes.
To create template projects:
To create template projects:
1. Create a new (billable) project.
2. Make yourself (or the firm principal) as the Client.
3. Give the project a name (like ‘Restaurant Template’ or ‘Fixed Fee New Residence Template’).
4. Give it a project number that doesn't interfere with your normal billable projects (i.e., T-0001).
5. Change the Project Status from ‘Active’ to ‘Template’.
6. Specify the desired project settings such as Project Type, Team (and billing rates), Phases (sub-phases), Job Codes, Milestones, etc.
7. Customize the Checklist/Task system and set up the budget and billing options.
When done, when you create a new project you can see a list of template projects. If you choose it, all the project attributes (see step 6 above) will be inherited by this new project. However, you can change any of the settings based on the specifics of the new project.
Another method is to take an existing project that you like and use the Duplicate button to create its clone. Give it the right project number and name as described above. Make sure its status is ‘Template’
